WOOD OF A KIND
Burl Sample Railing
for sale
This is a sample railing I built for a log cabin show room. The burls are from NH. I don't use wood glue or hardware, the mortise and tenons are hand carved and pulled into place with strong ratchet straps. The burls are caused by inflammation of the bark and are very rare. The bark when inflamed by the blight grows thick like grapefruit skin and transcribes into wood at the end of the season.
